The CBO was established and registered on 18th March 2011 as an income generation, information sharing and networking platform for the Community Animal Health Workers and Animal Health Assistants in Vihiga County. Business unusaul: The year 2010 was business unusual for anti-reformers and forces that fought against the new constitution. It was a big win for civil society and Kenyans at large.
CPDA’s contributions towards the ratification of the constitution were felt than ever before. We mobilized the entire provincial administration in Western Province to drum up support for the new order. We had an extensive network of Community Facilitators in 30 constituencies drawn from the former Western providence, Trans Nzoia and Narok Counties. A new start: The ratification of new constitution in 2010 marked a new start on how Kenya will be managed and governed. The shift from an old order to an optimistic future has made government, private sector and many organisations to refocus their programmes.
The focus is now on counties. Some counties haveset strategies on how they will attract resources and become sustainable in managing their affairs.
